Andy is an accomplished percussionist, educator, and musical director with over 25 years of professional experience in performance and music education.

After graduating from the London College of Music in 2000, Andy was awarded the prestigious British Reserve Percussionist Prize and quickly established himself as a successful freelance session musician in London. His performing career has included appearances with the Black Dyke Brass Band, Ernest Read Orchestra, Warwick University Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Air Force Central Band.

Alongside his orchestral work, Andy has performed extensively with rock, jazz, and function bands, both in the recording studio and on stage. His performances have taken him to respected venues including The Dublin Castle in Camden, The Rock Garden in Covent Garden, and the Camden Palais, as well as to audiences across the United States, France, and Belgium. As a composer and musical director, Andy has written numerous percussion works that have been performed throughout Europe and has led a variety of percussion ensembles over the past 25 years.

In 2002, Andy completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Oxford Brookes University and began his teaching career in schools across Berkshire. He became Head of Music at a school in Wokingham in 2006 and has since held a range of middle leadership positions in secondary schools and further education colleges. In 2021, he achieved the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL), further strengthening his expertise in educational leadership and school improvement.

Andy is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential. Through his expert tuition, personalised approach, and wealth of industry experience, many of his students have gone on to study at some of the UK’s leading conservatoires, including the Royal Academy of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and the Royal Northern College of Music.

Today, Andy continues to balance his teaching with an active performing career, appearing in theatres, clubs, concert halls, and music venues across the UK as a drummer and orchestral percussionist. His combination of professional performance experience and educational expertise enables him to inspire musicians of all ages and abilities.
